Over 800 Charred Spelt Wheat Grains Recovered From Bronze Age Pit

We recently recovered over 800 charred spelt wheat grains from a single Bronze Age pit that we excavated on one of our sites in Scotland. The presence of the grains indicates that the site’s inhabitants had relied heavily on it to make bread – a staple of the Bronze Age diet.
